No subscriptions?! How?
I don’t like subscriptions either. ButterKit runs on your machine - no servers or storage - so costs stay low. That makes sustainable one-time pricing possible. For those who want to support ongoing development, an optional annual plan is available (thank you!). The one-time option isn’t going away.
What does Pro unlock?
ButterKit Pro removes the “Made with ButterKit” watermark and unlocks cloud API features (OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, and more). Cloud usage is optional and billed separately by each provider.
System requirements?
ButterKit requires macOS 15.6+ and works best with Apple Silicon M1 or newer. Intel works too.
What platforms can ButterKit design for?
ButterKit is opinionated and designed from the ground-up to work best for Apple platforms: iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, and visionOS.
How does translation work? Do I need an API key?
ButterKit includes two translation engines:
On-device (free): 18 languages, fast, offline, and fully private. No servers or API keys.
Cloud (Pro): All 39 App Store languages with customizable creativity. Optional, bring-your-own-key billed separately by the provider you choose.
